Note: ​If you decide to upgrade to a full Masters membership following this 4 week program, the Learn to Paddle fee is applied against the full, first-year Master’s fee.
Our Learn to Paddle Program is the perfect opportunity for adolescents and adults who are interested in trying out the exciting sport of canoe and kayak. This introductory program is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for beginners to learn the fundamentals of paddling while getting to know members of our Masters group.

During the program, participants will work closely with experienced coaches who will guide them through the correct use of equipment and teach them important safety measures. Whether you're interested in recreational paddling or competitive racing, this program will provide you with the necessary skills and confidence to take your paddling to the next level.

MASTERS
Ages: 25+
Dates: May - October
Times: Sunday: 10:00am
Monday/Thursday: 7:00pm
*New member cost includes fitness membership to the Balmy Beach Clu
*Athletes 19+: Balmy Beach Club membership is mandatory for this age group (in addition to paddling fees).
The Masters' program is for adults (25+) of all skill levels. Most join as beginners with a median age of around 40; it's never too late to start! Participants paddle canoes and kayaks ranging from single, double, 4-person and 15-person canoes. Joining Masters is an excellent way to improve aerobic and fitness skills and meet people. During the off-season, training involves swimming, running and weight training.

During the off-season, our training program includes swimming, aerobic training, and strength training to help Masters members stay in shape and maintain their paddling skills. Masters are eligible to compete in several weekend races (regattas) in southern Ontario, with the summer culminating in the CANMAS Masters National Championships in late August.

PARA MASTERS
Ages: 25+
Dates: May - October
Our Para Masters Program is an inclusive weekly program that integrates para-athletes with able-bodied athletes. It offers intensive sessions for intermediate para-athletes who want to train regularly, develop their skills, and achieve their goals. Our experienced coaches work closely with each participant to tailor the program to their unique needs and aspirations. As one of the country's first para programs, we are proud to provide a safe and supportive environment for para athletes to experience the thrill of paddling.
Our Para Masters Program is perfect for adults (25+) of all skill levels who want to improve their fitness and paddling skills in a fun and supportive environment. During the off-season, our training program includes swimming, aerobic training, and strength training to help Masters members stay in shape and maintain their paddling skills.
