Tomorrow kicks off the start of the 2021 racing season for Sprint Canoe Kayak and it starts off with a bang in Burnaby, British Columbia. Burnaby Lake is the host of the 2021 Olympic and Paralympic Sprint Team Trials, taking place on Thursday March 11th - Sunday March 14th. Balmy Beach is proud to have 6 athletes competing for their place on the Olympic Stage:

  • Women's Kayak: Courtney Stott

  • Men's Kayak: Nick Matveev, Eric Ellery, and Cameron Low

  • Para Women's Kayak: Andrea Nelson

  • Para Men's Kayak: Stefan Samoila

This is Canada's first national sprint canoe kayak event since the pandemic. Athletes and supporters across the country have waited a long time for competitions to return but no spectators or media will be permitted to attend due to local Covid-19 regulations and event protocols.

So please join us in cheering on our Balmy Beach team from home!
